After nearly sixty years, the Shelburn Town Park is preparing for some exciting new upgrades. To revitalize the space, Shelburn officials secured roughly $50,000 in funding to completely redo the park.
The money comes from a combination of fundraising, ARPA Money, a REMC Operation Round Up Grant, and a generous grant from The Wabash Valley Community Foundation. The Town of Shelburn's Park Board was recently awarded an $18,000 grant for upgrades and repairs to the Shelburn Town Park. The updates and repairs will consist of all new playground equipment, swing set, new soccer and basketball nets, a fence, and picnic tables for families to sit and enjoy time together. Shelburn Clerk-Treasurer and park board member Melissa Copeland stated she's excited for the kids of Shelburn to have a dedicated space to play and spend time with their families. The Shelburn Park Board hopes to have all upgrades and renovations completed in time for the kids to enjoy the new park for Summer 2025.

This is truly inspiring! It's amazing what a dedicated community and strategic funding can achieve together. Grants like this make a real difference—especially when they result in safer, more inclusive spaces for children and families. Can’t wait to see the new Shelburn Town Park come to life in Summer 2025.
